About
I paint from a studio in Johannesburg
Hans — this page needs your voice.Everything below is scaffolding. Write it as you'd tell it to someone standing in the studio: how you started, why you paint what you paint, what a day looks like. First person, no CV language. This is the page collectors read before they spend money, and it does more work than any advert.
[Your opening — how you came to paint. The one that isn't the polished version.]
[What you paint and why. The subjects you return to. What you're trying to catch that a photograph can't.]
[The work itself — medium, process, how long a piece takes, what happens in the studio on an ordinary Tuesday.]
[Commissions — why you take them, and what you get out of painting someone else's memory rather than your own.]
Exhibitions & press
[Hans: list these yourself — shows, years, galleries, any press. I've left it empty rather than guess, because an invented exhibition history is worse than none at all. If the list is short, that's fine; leave the section out entirely and the page still works.]
