Your memory, painted by hand
Send me a photograph — a face, a place, a dog asleep in the sun — and I'll paint it properly, in oil, by hand, in my Johannesburg studio. Something to hang on a wall rather than scroll past on a phone.
How it works
- 01
Send me your photo
A phone snapshot is enough. Tell me what the moment means to you — that matters more than the megapixels.
- 02
Receive a quote
Within a day or two I'll come back with a size, a medium, a timeline and a price. No obligation, no pressure.
- 03
Watch it come to life
Once we're agreed, I paint. You get progress photos at every stage — the sketch, the block-in, the final layers.
- 04
Delivered to your door
Varnished, packed by hand, insured, and shipped anywhere in the world. Framing on request.
What it costs
A guide, not a fixed menu. The real number depends on the subject, the complexity and how many people are in it. Every quote is honest and itemised.
| Size | Typical subject | From (ZAR) | From (USD) |
|---|---|---|---|

Questions people ask
- How long does a commission take?
- Four to eight weeks for most pieces, depending on size and how many are ahead of yours. I'll give you a firm date with your quote, and I keep to it.
- What if I don't like it?
- You see progress photos at every stage, so there are no surprises at the end. Adjustments during painting are part of the process and included. I've never had a piece refused.
- Does the photo need to be professional?
- No. A phone photo in good light is plenty. The photograph gives me the facts; you give me the feeling. If a photo genuinely won't work, I'll tell you before you pay anything.
- Can you paint someone who has passed away?
- Yes, and I do it often. Old or damaged photographs are usually workable — send me what you have and we'll talk it through gently.
- Do you ship internationally?
- Yes, worldwide, insured, rolled or stretched depending on size. Shipping is quoted with the piece so there's no surprise at the end.
- How do I pay?
- Half to book your slot and start, half on completion before shipping. Card, EFT or SnapScan for South African clients; card or PayPal internationally.
