Who you are buying from
This website is operated by Hans Rooseboom, a fine artist based in Johannesburg, South Africa. By placing an order you agree to these terms. If anything here is unclear, please write to hello@hansrooseboom.art before you buy.
Prices & payment
Prices are shown in South African Rand (ZAR) and US Dollars (USD). The price you see at checkout is the price you pay; it is calculated on our side and is never taken from your browser. South African orders are processed through Payfast; international orders through Stripe. Your card details are entered on the payment provider's secure page and are never seen or stored by this site.
Original works
Every original is one of one. When you begin checkout, the piece is held for you for a short period so that two collectors cannot buy the same painting; if payment is not completed, the hold is released and the work returns to sale. Ownership passes to you on full payment; copyright and reproduction rights remain with the artist (see below).
Prints
Prints are made to order — each is printed and colour-matched after you order it, so it is produced specifically for you. Sizes, finishes and prices are shown on each work.
Commissions
Commissions are bespoke works made to your brief. Terms, timeline and payment are agreed with you in writing before work begins. Because a commission is made specifically for you, it cannot be returned once started except where it arrives damaged or materially differs from what was agreed.

Copyright
All artwork, images and text on this site remain the copyright of Hans Rooseboom. Buying a work gives you ownership of that physical piece; it does not transfer the right to reproduce, resell as reproductions, or use the image commercially without written permission.
Liability
We take care to describe and photograph each work honestly. Colours can vary slightly between screens. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the value of the item you purchased.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Nothing in them limits any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.
