A striking, fragmented portrait of Charlie, rendered in bold black, ochre and cream against a delicate lavender, heavily worked background. Ink lines, marks and gestural textures create a sense of movement and memory, while the broken forms suggest a character assembled from moments, gestures and stories.
Charlie 2 is my second tribute to Charlie. I wanted to explore the man behind the instantly recognisable silhouette—not as a perfect portrait, but as a collection of fragments. The cane, hat and distinctive posture become symbols of humour, resilience and humanity. The layered background represents the passing of time, while the fragmented figure reflects how certain characters remain with us long after their era has passed.
