Yes Sir
Acrylic and pencil on canvas · 30 × 40 cm · 2024
A striking monochromatic study of feminine confidence, surrender and attitude. Bold black acrylic shapes contrast with delicate pencil work, creating a raw, almost graphic quality. The seated figure dominates the composition, her posture and direct presence suggesting a quiet challenge beneath the title “Yes Sir.”
This piece explores the tension between authority and choice—the moment when a simple “yes” can carry far more meaning than the word itself. I wanted the figure to appear strong rather than passive: someone who understands exactly what she is saying and owns the decision behind it. The combination of rough acrylic and intimate pencil marks mirrors that contrast between power and vulnerability.
